Use a trial to validate setup, dashboard workflow, application compatibility and basic performance. Use staging, realistic testing and a migration plan to validate production risk.
What to test
- Launch the application type you actually plan to run.
- Confirm PHP/database versions and any required integrations.
- Check SSH/SFTP, backup controls, monitoring and support workflow.
- Test caching with logged-out and logged-in behavior where relevant.
- Verify that the product route—Flexible or Autonomous—matches the scaling model you want.
What a trial does not prove
A mostly empty WordPress install is easy for nearly any modern host. It does not reveal the database cost of your plugins, peak WooCommerce checkout concurrency, large-media behavior or the final DNS/email/webhook cutover.
Trial limitations matter
Cloudways trial capabilities can restrict activities such as server cloning or higher support add-ons. Verify the current trial rules before designing a test around a feature that may only be available on a paid account.
Before upgrading
Use the pricing guide, choose the correct product, and document a rollback plan if you are migrating a live site.
